Monte Lee Thornton founded BSQ Network Communications in 1997 and continues as its website designer/programer. Monte first started programing in 1982 with
an IBM dual floppy, and by 1984 was enrolled at Texas Westlyn College learning Linux and computer programing.
At that time in history the Internet was via file transfer protocal(FTP) to the government and worked on government projects. Monte has grown his experience
and education with computers, programing and internet website design ever since.
During 1988, using basic programing he started writing his own programs utilizing his own computer system on a daily basis. He continued learning all he
could about the future of computer programing, and the use of the upcoming internet.
In 1997, the internet was just becoming popular in every household with the use of AOL for email accounts and news. At that time Monte
was operating his own business, which was a scuba diving retail store. He wanted to know how to make the email and internet help him
to reach new customers. AOL was making access directly to customers possible. Website creation was just coming to every buiness and the
cost for getting his own graphics and website set up by someone else was just too expensive.
Monte investigated his options, and because of his programing education and experience, decided on a new business enterprise--BSQ Network Communications.
With his twenty years of experience as a photographer, he knew how to tell a story through pictures, and now he could also use that skill in creating
websites.
As soon as he had created websites for his own two businesses, he began obtaining customers for website design with both graphics and photographs.
By 1999 through his internet marketing efforts, he had gained worldwide clients from hotels, dive resorts, valve manufacturers, retail stores, corporations
and title company. Many of them are still relying on him for website updates, and hosting on his server.
During 2000 with the addition of paid advertising on Google, PayPal for receiving payments online, and with proper placement of search terms, Monte grew
his Scuba Diving business greatly, generating 10 to 15 new customers weekly. Website clients were also anxious to add those marketing tools to their existing websites.
2002 was the year Monte married Irene, a public speaker and writer, who also owned an interior design and remodeling business. Naturally he had created
great websites for her. It wasn't long before Monte recruited Irene's writing talents, to assist BSQ Network Communications when needed.
In 2004 after Hurricane Ivan devastated Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, his wife a Caymanian wanted to return to assist in the reconstruction of the
island, so together with their two children they relocated. BSQ moved with them. Existing customers were still taken care of via emails and phone calls,
and new website projects were forthcoming, from not only local businesses needing marketing boosts, but also continuing from the BSQ website.
A UK company had to find a webdesigner in the Cayman Islands for a very special project, and they hired BSQ Network Communications. The challenging website
was for a new public offering on the UK stock exchange and would have to exclude US
investors. Certain care on the entrance page setting out disclaimers, as well as who could review the information was critical. After the website was
designed, written, programed, and approved the time of its launching onto the internet was critical. Through the website potential investors would see
the offerings over the internet. Monte handled everything to their satisfaction. Only once funding was complete, did the board move the website to in-house operations.
In 2006 Thornton Construction managed the projects for Habitat for Humanity in the Cayman Islands, and in 2007 entered into commercial construction projects.
One of their largest projects however, has been obtained through the Thornton Construction website, where someone in the USA, needed to find a builder in the
Cayman Islands.
In 2009, the Thornton family, BSQ Network Communications, and Thornton Construction moved to Cayman Brac, where both websites are still bringing in new
projects. Monte knows how to create a website that will bring in new business, and build confidence in the customers. Since everyone is using the internet to
find what they are looking for, why not have Monte help them find you?
